My thoughts about breeding

The devon rex breed is to me, besides a lifestyle, also a passion. I relate very seriously to the health of kittens I've bred, to the state of the breed and its future, even though I have my cats for pure joy. The future for the breed is currently quite stable but it does not diminish the fact that to keep the genetic pool versatile we need to keep importing new bloodlines whilst we keep alive the lines we already have aquired.
My priority is that the kittens I breed are healthy and standard devon rex -kittens, as for their looks and personality. My breeding concentrates a very great deal on pedigrees and expanding genepools without forgetting the devon-look. I try to avoid inbreeding and too much line breeding, because the loss of genetic diversity is a threat to continued existence of the breed. We should not be breeding for ourselves or for shows, but strive to improve the genetic base and the continued existence of our breed.
My goal is to keep and follow the standard of the devon rex and to keep trying to expand the genetic diversity. In the best case scenario following the standard will produce healthy ja well-structured kittens and by thus avoiding too extreme looks. This is why I only use cats in my breeding that apart from health and character also have enough size and shape. All my litters are planned carefully and my maingoal in the end is to produce wellbalanced and healthy kittens that can bring joy to their owners for a long time.
I hope that the kittens I breed are sold primarily as pets, to homes that have enough stimulates to offer and good caring'. I will not sell pet kittens abroad. If you are interested in the devon rex breed or in buying a kitten, don't hesitate to contact me. I will sell cats for breeding only to breeders who share my opinion on breeding, on the basis of a trusting relationship. Those kittens will be sold with restrictions.
